National Liberation Museum |
5/21/11
From Amsterdam we drove about eight hours to Paris. It was one of the longest days of our trip because of the limited space. However, I made great use of the space by walking throughout the bus and talking with people. I read a part of my book and listened to sweet music while trying to learn Chinese from April and Chris. About two hours into the trip, we stopped at the National Liberation museum in Holland, which happens to be in the center of Operation Market Garden. The museum was sweet but I felt rushed. I did enjoy listening to our presenters’ stories about post-war life. She grew up in the area. Though it was personal, I respected her for telling us because it is hard to tell something that changed your life.
This is the memorial for those soldiers who had lost their lives. |
After years of being on the bus, we finally arrived at our hotel at around eight o’clock. We checked and quickly dropped our luggage off in order to find food. We walked into the local mall where we found some yummy pizza and pasta. The rest of the night was filled with talking and doing wash. The night would not have been perfect without a pillow talk with Butters, which took about two hours.
