An adventure completed results in new ones.

5/12/11

Flying over to Scotland was a quick process that could have been accomplished a day ago, but for some reason life said no. Ha! When I finally landed in Edinburgh, I stumbled upon Shardae and Luke who were deciding on which means of transportation they were going to choose. We ended up taking the tour bus, which was picking everyone else up around one o’clock. As soon as the rest of our group had joined, we were off. The bus was a normal tour bus that you would see in the US; however, it was a stick shift. In order to drive a bus that is not automatic, but manual, you have to be awesome. His name is also Jab: short for Jacob. Who knew that was another way to ay Jacob?

The hotel that we are staying at is called the Premier Inn in New Haven. It is a nice little place. Nothing too special, but what do expect when you have little money. The group rallied around 3:30 where we began walking over to a mall that included the royal yacht. We had an enjoyable time especially when we got down to the game room. While Heather and John played checkers, I entertained everyone with my travel experience. By the way the royal yacht was not that interesting. It was mainly something to do as we waited to go to bed. I took some pictures because there is really nothing to take due to its lack of landscape. Ha! That one is for you Jaclyn. However, I did manage to capture some pictures of people in my group.

On our way back to the hotel, we decided to go find some food to feed our empty stomachs. We found this pub near our hotel, which was pretty good. I just went with an appetizer because I did not want to spend that much money on food that I may not enjoy. Luckily, I went shopping with my roommate who happened to live in London last year. I found out that it was only for two weeks and not a long extended period, but it is still longer than me. The night could not be more better than spending it near a little house as the sun was setting. It allowed me to capture some nice photos. I love my camera. I am so glad that I went with something that cost that much money. Ha! Well I am done with the night. Time to go to the bar to upload this blog entry.

I forgot to mention that I visited the Britannia, which was the royal yacht of HRM. The yacht itself was impressive, but served no purpose because of the amount of money it took to run. The ship did have some good qualities like the dining room picture above.
