Church Histroy anyone?
5/15/11
Today was a rest day. Nothing too exciting occurred except for the fact that we went to church in the Chorley 2nd ward. The stake center was on the temple grounds, which was quiet convenient. Sacrament meeting was a spiritual moment because there bishop emphasized the importance of the Aaronic Priesthood in our lives and how without it, the church would not function. Sunday School was also very enjoyable. The singles ward meets in that ward, so we were able to listen and participate in their class. Priesthood was amazing! I have never been in such a responsive class where each insight was personal and spiritual. The spirit was present.
After church we headed to the patron housing where we prepared ourselves for the upcoming tour of Preston Church History Sites. Even though we did not spend too much time walking around Preston we learned of the great missionaries of hold. Heber C. Kimball who converted hundreds in Downham and also President Hinckley, who considers Preston his second home. We learned about how they taught and what it would be like in their day. I took several pictures because I knew I would not be able to tell you what it was like. Though I already forget what my pictures meant, I can tell you that the spirit was strong. This area was greatly affected the early missionaries.
We arrived back at the housing quarters where we prepared dinner for everyone, including the English young single adults. They were a funny group, but some of us did not like the way that the girls flocked towards them. The English knew they could control them with their accent and they did. Most of the guys did not hang out with them for long because of it, which was sad, but we were annoyed at certain parts of the night. My night ended with all of us five guys in one tiny apartment having pillow talk for about two hours. It was hilarious because Ben kept fueling the conversation.
