So today I walked about 15 miles. Just for fun, but I wanted to see everything today before I left for London tomorrow. Well in a nutshell I went to Scottish electronics and Scottish parliament. They were both long an required too much walking, but I learned something. Ha! Business is business wherever you go. The parliament building was a scene to see. It is so beautiful and was built for me. I wish I could wonder the building for hours, looking at all the details. Before the tour we were able to walk around and look at the various shops on the Royal Mile. We first started at the Elephant House where J.K. Rowling wrote Harry Potter! Everything was too expense to buy, but I wanted to purchase a kilt, so badly. I was with Kandace, Michelle, Michael, and Bristal. After Parliament, a group of us walked up the Royal Mile to the other end of the street where we found the Castle of Edinburgh. It was interesting, but it was not at the same time. The crown jewels took twenty minutes to see because it was a maze. Sarah kept taking us down the hill to the back of the castle, but we kept walking back up because people wanted to see the dungeons and we thought they were closer to the bottom of the castle rather than at the top.
From the castle, Matt, Adam, Ashlyn, Sarah, Bristal, and I walked towards this cathedral that we spotted from the top of the castle. It was a mile away, but we had to pass through the financial district called the Exchange. It was a nice area, but we kept walking and walking trying to find this cathedral, but we did not find it until Adam decided to walk down this random street. The cathedral was nice, but it was kind of awkward because we walked in during a Catholic Mass, so we sat down and listened to this amazing choir. I loved the vaulted ceilings and the vibrato. As we continued our journey we stumbled upon parks that were private, so it was disappointing because the parks were beautiful. The walk was well worth it because Ashlyn is one of the funniest people ever. She kept telling me how funny I was. Ha! We had a good time talking. She actually followed me the whole rest of the time. After walking through a bunch of residential communities were every house looked the same, we came to a park that was huge. We played Frisbee and just relaxed. We found beach near our hotel about a mile down the coastline. Sarah pointed out a pier and decided to take us on a walk. It was the longest walk in our lives. When we thought we were halfway done, we were not. It was so sad. I almost cried. However, the pictures were worth it. We then walked back to the store near us and I bought food and then joined the rest of my group at the restaurant near my hotel. It was kind of yummy, but I wasted a lb on this nasty swiss bread, but it was food. Now I am working on this blog, but sorry if this not informative, but my pictures explain a million words.
